Fibernet Finland was established in 2019, with a mission to enable people, communities and industries to benefit from digitalization with the help of a high-speed and reliable fibre optic network. The company focuses on semi-rural areas which are lacking behind in fibre availability. The target is to offer availability to over 50 000 Finnish properties.
We build our networks using diamond trenching technology. Compared to the traditional construction technology, diamond trenching has five times fewer CO2 emissions. Diamond trenching is also fast: one street will be ready in one day. We provide our customers with an open-access network, meaning they can choose their operator instead of being tied to only one service provider.
Fibernet Finland is owned by a Swedish-based turn-key fibre network provider Ociusnet, and Connecting Europe Fund (CEBF). The Connecting Europe Broadband Fund is a fund dedicated to greenfield investments in broadband infrastructure projects. Its objective is to contribute to the achievement of gigabit connectivity objectives by investing in greenfield telecom and fiber projects in underserved areas across Europe.
